The Embroiderer's Story

"The Embroiderers' Story"

In the Fall of '07 we had a visitor to our showroom who described an absolutely amazing project that was under way at Plimoth Plantation. Volunteer stitchers from all over the world were gathering to recreate an embroidered jacket from the 1600's. The project is called "The Embroiderers' Story" . The finished jacket is expected to take over 2,500 hours to complete and will be on display in 2009 once it is finished.

Please visit the Plymouth Plantation "The Embroiderers' Story" blog at www.plimoth.org/embroidery-blog where you can follow the project as the work progresses.

The #5 Cherry Divided Carrier pictured above was engraved to celebrate the project and the efforts of all who have contributed to it. For a limited time we are offering this Special Edition piece as a way to help raise funds for the Textile Conservation Department at Plimoth Plantation. A $10 donation from the sale of each "Embroiderers' Story" carrier will be made by us to Plimoth Plantation. Available online only, $85.00 each
